Extension Quantity Calculator — How Many Pieces Needed
Calculate the number of extension pieces needed for full or partial head coverage.
Optional — per extension piece
How We Calculate This
This calculator estimates the number of extension pieces needed based on the fitting method, desired coverage, natural hair density and extension length.
The formula
Pieces = Method base x Coverage factor x Density factor x Length factor
Total weight = Pieces x Weight per piece
- Tape-ins: ~40 pieces base (20 sandwiches)
- Keratin bonds: ~150 strands base
- Fine hair needs fewer pieces, thick hair needs more
