How heavy should clip-in extensions be?

A full head set typically weighs 120-220g. For daily wear, 100-150g is comfortable. For special occasions, up to 220g for maximum volume. Fine hair should use lighter sets (100-120g) to avoid the clips pulling. Longer extensions weigh more — a 55cm set weighs 30-50% more than a 35cm set.

How do I apply clip-in extensions?

Section hair horizontally where you want to place the weft. Backcomb slightly at the root for grip. Open all clips on the weft, press the centre clip in first at the root, then secure side clips. Start with the widest weft at the nape and work upward. Leave the top 5-7cm of hair free to cover the clips.

Can clip-in extensions damage hair?

Clip-in extensions are the safest method as they are temporary. However, wearing them daily, clipping into the same spots, or using sets that are too heavy can cause traction.
