Graduation Calculator — Angles & Weight Distribution
Determine cutting angles and weight distribution for graduated bob styles.
Typical graduated bob: 45°
Length at the nape/baseline
Guide sections from nape to crown
How We Calculate This
This calculator uses trigonometry to determine the weight build-up from a graduated cutting angle, showing the length at each section from the nape to the crown.
The formula
Build-up = Base length x tan(angle) x Head curve factor
Section length = Base length + (Build-up x Section position)
- 0° = one-length (no graduation)
- 45° = classic graduated bob
- 90° = fully layered (no weight build-up)
