Colour Depth Calculator — Mix Two Shades
Calculate the resulting depth level when mixing two colour shades together in any proportion.
Shade 2 will be 50%
How We Calculate This
This calculator uses a weighted average formula to determine the resulting depth level when mixing two hair colour shades together.
The formula
Result level = (Level A x Proportion A) + (Level B x Proportion B)
For example, 50% of level 6 + 50% of level 8 = (6 x 0.5) + (8 x 0.5) = 3 + 4 = level 7.
